Zhang Ji (张继) is a poet in the Tang Dynasty of China. This is the most famous a poem of him. This poem described the poet anchored in the Maple Bridge outside Suzhou City at one night of autumn. The autumn night beautiful scenery attracted the sleepless poet. He wrote down this little poem which is full of artistic conceptions. This Chinese poetry expresses the thoughts and feelings of poet’s lonely sorrow.

Berth In Maple Bridge At Night
Moon fell, crows caw and frost is full of the sky,
By maples along the river and fishing boat lights, I sleepless lie.
Cold Mountain Temple is outside Suzhou City,
The sound of bell propagates to my boat at the deep night.

枫桥夜泊
月落乌啼霜满天,
江枫渔火对愁眠。
姑苏城外寒山寺,
夜半钟声到客船。
